Live briefs & collaborations

Back in 2019 I worked on a International collaboration with Universidad de Monterrey - Mexico, exploring & representing the heritage of Leeds through the wool industry and the impact it has on the cities identity today. My main role was as the projects researcher and strategist. I conducted in-depth research into the wool industry and the city of Leeds and worked closely with the photographers and stylists to help develop the concept for our shoot.

Katie & May

In spring 2020 I worked on a live brief for Headingley based womenswear boutique Katie & May. This was an individual brief so all aspects of research, concept development and content creation were my own. I had to devise a sales plan to drive sales via Instagram to the brands website and create a 2 week period social media calendar, considering both the written and visual content.

This work was created with limitations due to the ongoing COVID - 19 pandemic so I had to work remotely with equipment and products I had at home. Nonetheless I produced and implemented marketing tools and content that would encourage more consumer engagement and maximise brand awareness.

Client Feedback

Katie & May

Many thanks again for completing the social media project. It was obviously very well thought out and planned and you had taken the time to understand our customers. It was very clear to understand and the SWOT analysis was particularly useful. You picked up on our weaknesses very well but have also given us solutions to these.

We are going to use aspects of your project to push our social media accounts, using your following suggestions which we particularly liked:-

  • The overall look of the grid, trying to keep in rows of three and including quotes.

  • Having influencers on the feed

  • Different flat lay backgrounds, I particularly like the idea of using grass at the moment, especially with the stay at home theme being so prominent.

  • Quality of the pictures to be improved and not using collages, more multiple photos and if we do a collage use an app such as unfold

  • Including the link to website in more captions

  • Creating a blog, this is something we have already started to work on.

  • Increase the number of highlights on the main page

Thank you again for your time and we will most  certainly be implementing your ideas above.

Best Wishes,

Catherine and Olivia
